The Club's next event is  the 56th Cork Veteran Run next Saturday, 23rd July.  Meet at  the Anglers Rest at 10am.  CoC Dick O Brien has a run prepared to take you west of the county for another pleasurable spin.  Contact Dick on 021 4353086 for further details.

Classic Car Live – Sun June 19th; Yes, it's nearly that time of the year again.  Classic Car Live takes place at Mondello Park this year on June 19th. Clubs from all over the country have been invited to take part and if we can send a minimum of five cars a space will be reserved for us in the paddock area. There is a chance to participate in the 'demonstration' runs, a rare opportunity to drive on the track. First ten people who submit their names will gain free admission.  Any club members interested in showing their cars should contact Dick O'Brien @ 086 1255709 or 021 4353086.

Cobh Classic Car Club;  The newly formed Cobh Classic Car Club are planning a drive next Monday, May 2nd to coincide with the National Historic Vehicle day.  They will meet at The Bench (51 51 57N 08 17 6.7W) in Cobh at 13.30 and head for the city.  If you wish to join in (2, 3 or 4 wheels welcome) you can meet them at Albert Street (behind John McCarthy Motors on Lr Glanmire Road) at 15.15.  Contact Richard O Rourke for details on 0868212229.

Ethanol in Petrol;  John Larkin, webmaster of the Irish Veteran & Vintage Car Club, has produced some interesting and informative reports on the problems that may occur for owners of classic machinery.  This will be of interest to members, some of whom have noted problems occurring with rotting fuel lines and carbs gumming up.  Article is reproduced here, by kind permission of IVVCC.

New Years Day
This year, the start venue was on the left of the entrance to Douglas Court Shopping Centre and proceeded to Roberts Cove Inn where soup and sandwiches were served, followed by the usual collection for Marymount Hospice.  See pictures in the 'Galleries' link above.

Club Subs
Our Membership Secretary has asked me to remind those of you, who have not yet paid your sub for 2011 that your membership will lapse on 31 Dec next.

The Club's latest event was the Irish National Vintage Motor Cycle Assembly from 23rd to the 28th of August.
