{"id":447,"date":"2012-12-07T16:20:10","date_gmt":"2012-12-07T16:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/munstervintage.com\/wordpress\/?p=447"},"modified":"2012-12-11T10:38:55","modified_gmt":"2012-12-11T10:38:55","slug":"the-1902-bolide-8hp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/munstervintage.com\/wordpress\/?p=447","title":{"rendered":"The 1902 Bolide 8hp."},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><span style=\"font-size:18px;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">1902 Bolide 8hp<\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">The car was purchased by Ossie Bennett (Johnstown) in 1976. &nbsp;Alan Wilson happened to be in the Ossie&#39;s garage when it was brought home and was suitably impressed with the car. &nbsp;Jim Ryan, of Durrow, worked for Ossie and knew him well enough to persuade Ossie to part with it. &nbsp;Jim purchased the car some time in the early eighties<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">In 1986, Finbarr Corry visited Jim and did an article on the car which was featured in one of his publications.&nbsp; During the rebuild, Alan and his father, Alan Snr, helped with the fabrication side of the restoration work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">S<\/span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\">adly, Jim passed away in 2000 and the car was sold back to Ossie where it remained until 2009 when Derek Wilson purchased it. &nbsp;A full restoration was undertaken with the plan of competing in the 2011 London to Brighton run being the aim. &nbsp;Unfortunately, this didn&#39;t happen but a concerted effort ensured it took its place in this years event ensuring it reached Brighton this time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/munstervintage.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/l-b-2.jpg\" style=\"font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 16px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-453\" height=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/munstervintage.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/l-b-2-150x150.jpg\" title=\"London to Brighton 2012.\" width=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/munstervintage.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/l-b-2-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/munstervintage.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/l-b-2-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>&nbsp;Click <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/67443729@N03\/sets\/72157632192684630\/show\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>&nbsp;for more pictures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1902 Bolide 8hp The car was purchased by Ossie Bennett (Johnstown) in 1976.
